Day 5

I watched Australia just go down to Italy.. (how close was that!), and then basically fell asleep during the Switzerland - Ukraine match.. which I hear eventually went to a penalty shoot-out, in which the Swiss scored 0 from 2!! (what the!!).. But anyways.. today I had a nice sleep in (dremt in English.. which is to be expected, but was really weird! And then got up for a late breakfast.

The weather was pretty awesome, but then it began to rain a bit. We decided to wait a while, and I played Texas Hold' Em poker with Arnulf. Ha ha I had a straight and bidded up real high, to discover he had a straight flush... so not cool ha ha! But i fought my way back and eventually had him against the ropes before lunch time (these awesome home-made piyyas from the local butcher). Oh, I dunno if ive said this before, but the bread and rolls here ROCK!!!! SOOOOO tatsy, oh man.. puts our stuff to shame.. anyways... Had lunch, and then headed into Esslingen with Mrs Kirste. Esslingen is a beautiful village (altho quite alot of residents for a 'village') with a really beautiful inner city with old buildings and paved streets.. and there are heaps of gorgeous churches! Unfortunately it appears my camera doesnt take quite so nice pictures inside (gets all speckly and stuff (is probably a way i can fix that.. should read the manual!). But yeah..

Oh and there are all these towers around the place that used to be connected by a massive wall around the city (for defence). We walked up a section of the wall that still remains running up a hill, which was great! And from the top you had a great view of the township and surrounding areas. I had an iced chotoclae as it was boiling, and we talked for a while to the waiteress there.

Then we went back into the inner city and walked around some more, went to this AWESOME icecream shop.. (man im gonna get fat soon! especially as i cant go out on runs etc at the mo cozza my stupid feet). Anyways.. so then it was back to home where I am sitting now, watching Brazil beat Ghana.. and later i think it will be dinner, and then probably play a bit of soccer outside, maybe go for a swim, and probably also play some card games again (Bjorn and Arnulf bought this awesome case of vegas gambling chips and dice.. they are really authentic looking and stuff.. its quite fun!

Still havent gotten used to the driving on the right side. normally its fine.. but every now and then u get this sudden rush of adrenaline coy the cars in the wrong place, or you expect us to pull out coy we have right of way, and the other car just carries no. then u realise thay had right of way... Oh also! here they use hazard lights on the Autobhan to warn cars behind you that ahead there is a queue so you will have to stop. and the message just kinda gets passed back. Its a pretty good system really. Tho when i first saw the car infront of us stick on its hazyrds i thought it was in major trouble.. but no.. wrong again ha ha!

Anyways.. im sure if forgotten heaps, coz today was amazing. maybe if i remember anything, and still remember it tomorrow (or later today if i come back online) then i will write it down in this post.

Laters!
