Day 8!

Well, its coming up on midnight.. but im not gonna sleep for a little bit im sure, so i might aswell write about today now.

Oh last night I went with ariane to her tae kwan do practice. First we played a game of basketball, which i played too (gave them a bit of a lesson too ha ha). And then watched them practicing kicks etc.. I was gonna join in, maybe next time.. After that just came home and listened to my ipod for a bit n went to sleep.

Now today... wow... Well first i had a sleep in because everyone was out for the morning (Arnulf at school and Björn and Mr Kirste at work as normal, Mrs Kirste had work, and Ariane had a breakfast at school). So I got up and loaded a few more photos onto the flickr site (all the singapore ones are up now!! yay!!), and then just mooched round for a while in my pjs. For lunch we had this delicious spag bol, of which i ate way too much!

At 2.30 ariane had her priyegiving or sorts at school (she is finished at the gymnasium (high school kinda) now, so thats pretty awesome!). She got a biology priye and a few other honourable mentions. Over here they have a system where 1 is excellent (instead of A+), and i think it goes down to 8. She had an average over her Abitur of 1.1!! So thats like totally sweet man!! :) I was stoked as for her!! So yeah.. we got a bit dressed up then went there. and at 5 the Germans played football.

Straight after the priyegiving me and ariane got changed and jumped on a train. We were going to go to a massive marketplace in stuttgart, but by then it had been closed off by police as it was bursting at the seams. so we went to a park in the outskirts (still a good thousand people there at least) and watched the game. Ha ha and man... it was pretty crazy a!!! Anyway it was a really cool experience!! And as u probably know, Germany won (in penalty shootouts!!) So that made it even better :). Afterwards it was mental. I had a german flag and a german soccer shirt, so i just joined on in.. but man, never have i heard so many car horns tooting and stuff. ha ha for the next good 3-4 hours it was like open-season on honking ur horn as much as u wanted and hanging out the window with a flag yelling stuff about germany, or being world champion, or berlin or July the 9th :). (the place and date of the final). It was crazy!

Me Ariane and Andreas drove to his place to drop some stuff off (on the way i partook in the inciting of pedestrians with my flag :). and then we headed into Stuttgart on the train....
Wow.....
Seriously....
It was like absoultely buzzing!!! Never seen anything like it. was awesome!!!!
Anyway, first we went to an open air beer garden type place (pretty large tho!) and hung out with some randoms and had some dinner. I had curry wurst (really good), and then, even tho i shouldnt gave, i had a dish of this traditional southern german stuff.. the name has escaped me just now which is annoying, but it began with m.. im pretty sure it was Maulteurens.. but ill double check tomorrow. Anyway.. from there we watched a bit of the Italy game, then wandered into town... WOW!!!! We walked past Schlossplatz (the marketplace we were gonna watch in). There woulda still been a good 50,000 inside ay.. and just going nuts!! Outside the streets were totally packed and full or red black and gold.

It was just like this massive party that stretched for miles!! People everywhere singing, dancing, beating drums.. It was mad! I cant really describe it ay! But yeah, anyways we slowly made our way through the crowds and came to this building and an elevator, where i thought we might go down to a trainstation or something... But nope, we went to the top, and up there was this large bar which was basically a beach ontop of the building. There was sand and deck chairs everywhere, and a boardwalk to walk along. and along one side there were all these bed type things u could lie down in the shade on (tho it was dark now.. but yeah..) From up here u could look down on the madness below (it was pretty busy up there too of course), and we all sat down on the sand and had this really nice lemon radler called 'Warsteiner'. ha ha irs slogan was 'eine Königin unter dem Beiren' lol. Anyhow we anjoyed that, and i tried to take in as much of the conversation as i could (and take in as little of the female flesh parading around as i could aswell :) ). And then afer a while we headed back down and soaked up a bit more atmosphere and headed back home.. Man... It was crayz ay!! And that was just them winning the quarter final!!! I cant start to imagine what happens next if they win any more!! I think we are gonna watch their semifinal at the Schlossplatz too!! (will have to queue for a few hours beforehand tho i think). Man.. Its gonna be nuts!!

Oh i forgot, the train into stuttgart ran right next to the road (like it had its own lane almost) for a while ay.. was weird but cool!

Should prolly head off to bed now, and if i cant sleep then just digest what ive just been up to!
Tomorrow i think Ariane has her big end of school ball. I think I heard im going too. but dunno what the deal is, so we will see!

What a great day! Oh.. and just to top it off, the weather was perfect!! (as it has been most the time).. about 26-28°, and just a little breath of wind. And alsong as u arent out in the sun for hours on end.. no sunburn... Ahhh so good!!!
OK, g'night!
