Day 9

Oh, that traditional food thingy i had last night was called Maultaschen.. knew it was Mault(something) and had an s in it ha ha.

Today I slept in a little (an consequently missed Arnulf's tennis :( ), so that was a pity! But it was nice to get a good sleep too. A little while after I had woken up, and was having a shower Björn came down and said he was heading into Esslingen for a while. So I said id come too. It was again a perfect day which was great!

First we went into a few shops and looked at some clothes etc, then Björn bought an office set for his desk at work, coz the plastic things that were provided are really ugly and annoying. After that I looked in a few shops to find a present for Mrs Kirste as its her birthday tomorrow. I ended up getting her a Basket type thing which also came with a bowl that you could place on the inside of it. Would be good as a fruit basket, or holding chips, or soemthing like that. After that we just wandered a little, had an icecream (great icecreams around here!) and then went back home.

After that I took some time ouit to just relax, load a few photos up on flickr, and do some reading. And before you know it it was 5. And time to watch England and Portugal. I watched them until the end of regular time, and then we had to go. Oh! I couldnt catch what the german commentators thought, but that red card on Rooney was a bit rough!!! He didnt do that much wrong!!! Maybe a yellow because he did end up standing on the other player. And if it was for shoving Christiano Ronaldo.. ha ha he deserved a medal for that, not a red card.. that guy really needs to get over himself ha ha)

Aaaaanyhoo. So it was now 7 and time to go to Ariane's ball (the Abiball). This was basically a combination of a leavers dinner, and 7th form ball. So it was pretty cool!! Everyone sat down and had dinner and watched a film that some students had made (it musta been a good 30-45 min worth all up, was shown in 2 parts). And throughout this there were a few speeches, farewells to teachers, performances and so on. A while into the ball we found out france had beaten brazil (what the.... where did that come from!). I was sitting with Ariane, Andreas, Björn and his girlfriend Heidi, Jessica, one of Ariane's friends Julia, and her boyfriend Markus. I had some pork schnitzel and chips (sooo tender and nice!!). It was cool. After that (around midnight) a student band started playing, and there was a bit of dancing and stuff (plus a midnight buffet *drooool*). I ended up getting home at about 1 am or so.. so not too late, and it didnt take me long at all to get to sleep!!

Man.. I dont think ive gone this long without speaking English in my life before.. Its so weird! I guess itl get weirder too! :) oh well, its good, even thought very daunting and scary at times too (i find its ok when you are talking with familiar people like the Kirstes and Andreas and stuff.. But other times its very nerve racking!!

Till next time
