Day 10!

Today is Mrs Kirste's Birthday
I ment to get up at 9, but i forgot to set my alarm properly.. and my body was taking all the sleep it could get! But thankfully Mrs Kirste came down and woke me up at 9, so it was all good. After a quick breakfast and shower we headed off to the Baptist church in Esslingen (Mr Kirste doesnt go, not sure about Björn, Ariane was sleeping off the last night, and Arnulf had to study for 3 tests in a row starting tomorrow).

The Church was really cool. The seats made my back hurt a bit :) but apart from that it was all good. They had a band visiting who sang songs in english. But we only sat and watched them really, and the songs they sang were just generic english songs mainly.. so it was a little weird for me. but all good!

The sermon was also from a guest speaker, and he was really good! It was a sermon about what we can and cant learn from football and the football world cup (kinda topical there at the moment :) ). It sounds a bit cheesy and lightweight on the surface, but it was quite good ay! And the german he used was relatively un-complicated, and therefore it was quite easy to follow, which i was also very glad of! After the service they welcomed me too :) which was really nice!
At the chuch i met another guy who was on an exchange from Spain! But i kinda found it a bit hard to understand his german.. which made it a bit awkward, but oh well :).

Afterwards Mr Kirste came and picked us up, and we went back home, where we just kinda hung out for a while, and i put a few more photos up on flickr. Oh and I gave Mrs Kirste her present which i think she liked. Then we went out for lunch (always the main meal here) to celebrate Mrs Kirste's birthday. We went to a really nice greek restaurant on the Nekar. It was beautiful! Andreas and Heidi came aswell, so it was a big group and everyone enjoyed it i think. I had lamb fillet with salad and chips, altho what heidi ordered looked pretty awesum.. but hey. mine was good too! :)

We then went down to the nekar for a bit and skipped some stones and all that, and went back home. It was pretty hot, so after me Björn and Arnulf had played some garden-football, and eaten some strawberry birthday cake (mmmm! its strawberry season over here, so they are EVERYWHERE!). We all (me Ariane, Björn and Heidi and later Mr Kirste at least - Arnulf had to study) went for a swim in the pool.

Later in the evening I made myself a sandwich, hung around and talked to Mrs Kirste a bit, and then before bed we played some Texas Hold'Em. Ha ha this time i started strong and got a bit cocky, and ended up losing to Ariane, but hey :) thats poker for ya! I taught Ariane and Björn how to play coin rugby using one of the chips from poker (did i say how cool these chips are!! - and the case they come in - an awesome metal suitcase - also comes with 5 of those awesome see-through red dice. Ahh its soo cool!!). Anyway, that was fun, and then it was getting late, so it was off to bed again for me!
