Day 17

Im pretty tired, and im trying to remember details of yesterday.. but im kinda drawing blanks so this may be a bit short :)

Today I got up around 9 for church (starting at 10), so that gave me some good time to have breakfast and a shower and all that. Today the sermon was on Hebrews 2:1-12 (im pretty sure, my bibles downstairs so i cant double check.. but that sounds right). It was pretty good! And the worship team did a real good job too, there were 2 guys who could both sing fantastically (half the songs were in english which was cool) and one of the girls, who was playing guitar at the same time also had an amazing voice!

After the service I met a guy who works at a technical institute for automobile engineering, and he said he could show me around a bit tomorrow, so i gladly agreed!! Soon after we went back home, and i had a bit more of a hunt for some flights online after a delicious barbeque lunch.

Im pretty sure I spent quite a while seeking out flights and planning where to for the month of August, so i think thats where my afternoon went, and why I cant remember much interesting details.. Anyway.. Looks like Ive got a good plan of travel sorted now (all flights are like maximum 5-10 Euro + tax of about 20-30 euro.. ridiculous!)

Around 7 me and Arnulf went to the church where they were screening the final. They had quite a cool set up with these really comfy deck chairs, and a corner where you could buy reasonably cheap drinks, wurst and ice creams. The game was pretty good huh! man.. to take a penalty shot like Zidane did in the 7th minute there.. that takes some serious guts.. Almost didnt pull it off too! :), but i was glad to see Italy claw one back soon after.

The second half came and went with danger from both teams but no goals.. and then extra time.. OK, why the heck was Henry taken off?? He was the standout player of the game and was shredding the Italians regularly.. he must have taken an injury or SOMETHING!! Woah and then that strike on goal by Zidane.. what a cross and strike (header), and then what an absolute stellar save from Buffon (Italian Goalkeeper).. that was amazing! Oh and then poor Zidane.. I guess there had been a bit of niggle beforehand aswell.. and being a captain in a final in extra time (after getting denied a goal just before aswell) must be extremely stressful, and its extra-time so ud be exhausted too.. I mean he shozuldnt have done it, and should have had some self-control.. but you can sympathasise! And being his last game and all.. Ugh I feel so awful for the guy! I hope France doesnt use him as a scape goat, coz hes a truely great player!

Anyway, after the match it was hometime and after calling home and having a chat I booked the majoirty of my flights and finally around 1.30am went to bed and got some sleep

I KNOW WHAT YOU MEAN ABOUT THE FLIGHTS!! One weekend me and Liv decided that we wanted to go away, just for the sake of it, and though a flight(or even a bus) from birmingham to scotland would be cheap-ish -- but after some "dective work" it ended up cheaper to go to spain! ... so we did! LOL! i love the way Europe is all backwards!

a bus company you might like to check out "megabus.com" has really cheap ($1) bus trips all over the place, but may just be in england - but still a thought if you ever head over that way :)

have a good day!
Nita :)
